In August 2021, David Blumenkrantz returned to Kenya for the first time since he left back in 1994. During his years (1987-'94) living and working in the region, he created the photographs and stories published in his book Edges of Africa, which, with the generous sponsorship of Kenya Airways, he was able to bring 200 copies with him on this trip. This video features several of the reunions David had with friends and co-workers he had not seen for many years, as well as encounters with new friends and colleagues, including the beginning of what is hoped to be a collaboration with the NGO SHOFCO, in the Kibera slums. Against this backdrop, the relevance of the book is highlighted.
